ATLANTA – Lady Luck was on the side of one Statesboro mother of three who won thousands from a free ticket. In other words, Greta Pinckney won a $30,000 top prize playing the entertaining Georgia Lottery instant game Cashword II.
“I think this is my favorite ticket,” exclaimed Pinckney, 32.
She redeemed her free ticket from another instant game at Mill Creek #003, 500 E. Main St. in Statesboro, and selected Cashword II. Pinckney was sitting on her couch when she scratched it.
“I thought I’d won $500,” she said.
Excited about her win, Pinckney ran to the store where she and the clerk counted each word on the ticket.
“As soon as I walked out of the store, I screamed the whole way home,” she said. “I feel great.”
Pinckney and her husband, Eugene, have three children, ages 16, 13 and 1.
“We’re going to do whatever my kids want to do,” she exclaimed. “We’re going to do it.”
