ATLANTA – Sylvia Shaw of Adairsville wasn’t spooked when she purchased a winning Georgia Lottery instant ticket worth a half-million dollars on Halloween. Shaw, 66, was treated to a $500,000 top prize playing 20X The Money – Holiday Edition.
“I just stopped, went in and bought it,” she said. “It was a new game that I was just trying out.”
A Knight #0002, 1531 Dews Pond Road N.E. in Calhoun, sold the lucky ticket, and Shaw scratched it in the car.
“It was craziness! I had to look at it two and three times,” she said. “I’m relieved and happy about it.”
Excited over her windfall, Shaw has no plans at the moment.
