ATLANTA – A Dawson man is pleased with a healthy pre-Thanksgiving prize from the Georgia Lottery. Curtis Davis won a $1.5 million top prize playing the instant game Jumbo Jumbo Bucks – Anniversary Edition.
Dawson Peddler, 388 S. Main St. in Dawson, sold the winning ticket, and Davis scratched his lucky ticket while at home.
“I was sitting on the floor. I jumped up and ran around the house,” he recalled.
A truck driver, Davis anticipates paying off his bills and buying a trailer to expand his trucking business.
“I want to enjoy life,” he exclaimed. “It’s the holidays, and it couldn’t have come at a better time!”
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
