Retired Carrollton repairman clinches $25,000 lottery win

Thursday, September 2, 2010

ATLANTA – A retired Carrollton repairman has sealed a lottery win. Leroy Martin won a $25,000 top prize playing All Access, a new Georgia Lottery instant game.

“I always buy the new tickets,” said Martin, 75. “I just like them.”

Martin, retired 25 years from AT&T, was at Bowdon Kwick Shop, 710 E. College St. in Bowdon, when he scratched his lucky ticket.

“I didn’t believe it at first. I had to look two or three times,” the grandfather of nine said. “I was jumping up and down just a little bit.”

In addition to his grandchildren, Martin has five adult children.

He anticipates paying off bills.

“I’ve got everything I want and need,” he shared.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $11.9 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
