Winning Fantasy 5 ticket worth $527K sold in Decatur

ATLANTA – A Fantasy 5 ticket worth more than a half-million dollars was sold in Decatur. Flat Shoals Food Mart, located at 4845 Flat Shoals Parkway, sold a winning ticket worth $527,564 that matched all five numbers from the Jan. 8 Fantasy 5 drawing.

The winner, Billy Dorsey of Ellenwood, claimed his prize Jan. 10 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Winning numbers from the Jan. 8 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 4-5-7-31-39.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
