ATLANTA - A Duluth couple is celebrating a fantasy come true. Leisa Sutton recently discovered that she had a winning Fantasy 5 ticket worth $105,256 in the June 17 drawing.
Mrs. Sutton and her husband, Larry, verified the numbers in the newspaper and on the Georgia Lottery Web site before they could believe that their ticket had the winning numbers. “We just stared at it for a long time,” Mrs. Sutton recalls.
Mrs. Sutton picked the numbers based on the birthdays of her husband, her daughter, Jessica, and herself. The winning numbers for the June 17 drawing were: 7-8-10-15-31.
Mrs. Sutton is a homebuilder’s purchasing administrator and she writes poetry in her spare time. The couple is still deciding what they will do with their winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Racetrac #0659, located at 2592 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth. A second top prize winning ticket for the June 17 drawing was sold in Suwanee.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Racetrac will receive a retailer incentive bonus of $3,000.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs.
