Waycross logger tracks $400K Georgia Lottery prize

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

ATLANTA – A Waycross logger is enjoying a win from the Georgia Lottery. Brandon Tatum, 35, won a $400,000 top prize playing the instant game Lucky Streak.

Tatum claimed his prize Wednesday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.

Aden’s Minit Market #48, 2198 Brunel St. in Waycross, sold the winning ticket.

While winning “feels great,” the father of two has not yet decided what to do with his winnings.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
