Gordon County logger rounds up $350K in winnings

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

ATLANTA – One Gordon County man is enthusiastic about winning a hefty prize from the Georgia Lottery. Edward Rose of Resaca won a $350,000 top prize playing the instant game Atlanta Falcons Big Win!

Rose, 36, claimed his prize Feb. 10 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.

“I was just trying to get change for $100,” said Rose, a father of three. “So, I bought a ticket, and I scratched it in the store.”

Super 7 Food Mart, 11 W. Howard St. in Kingston, sold the winning ticket.

“I was just shocked. I froze up,” Rose explained. “I feel a whole lot better now.”

A logger, Rose and his wife, Melanie, anticipate purchasing a new home and a new car.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
