Friday, February 28, 2014

ATLANTA – One Tifton man has picked a Georgia Lottery instant ticket with an impressive prize. Alwyn Perryman, 66, won $100,000 playing the instant game 50X The Money.

Perryman purchased his lucky ticket at Lil Pantry #8, 1415 N. Tift Ave. in Tifton.

“I just went in to buy a Mega Millions ticket, and I bought a couple of instant tickets,” he explained. “I scratched it in the store. I couldn’t believe it.”

A farm equipment machinist, Perryman plans to retire next year. He and his wife, Gail, have two adult children.

The Georgia Lottery instant game 50X The Money is loaded with prizes of up to $1 million.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.
