ATLANTA – A Chatsworth great-grandmother is tickled over winning a prize from the Georgia Lottery. Elease Smith, 71, won a $50,000 top prize playing the instant game Mad Money.
The great-grandmother of five claimed her prize March 3 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.
“I just went to the store and bought some tickets,” said Smith, who scratched the winning ticket in the car. “I didn’t know what to think. I was excited.”
ABC Convenience Store #0002, 24 New Hope Church Road in Chatsworth, sold the winning ticket.
In addition to her five great-grandchildren, Smith has 17 grandchildren and nine adult children.
Feeling great over her windfall, Smith has not decided yet on plans for her winnings.
