Conyers woman wins $544K Fantasy 5 prize

ATLANTA – A Rockdale County woman has captured an invigorating Fantasy 5 jackpot prize worth more than a half million dollars. Tonya Baron of Conyers matched all five numbers from the March 28 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $544,931 jackpot prize.

“I’m very excited,” said Baron, 45. “I’ve been talking about buying a home.”

Baron purchased her Quik Pik ticket at Corner Market, 4624 Highway 138 S.W. in Stockbridge.

“I went to get gas, and I checked my ticket,” she said. “The clerk told me, and I didn’t know how to react. I was excited.”

Winning numbers from the March 28 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 3-17-18-23-34.

The lucky winner is a manager for an auto parts store and lives with her husband, Thomas.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
