ATLANTA – A lucky Clayton County man has experienced the thrill of winning a half-million dollar prize while grocery shopping. Adrian Castillo-Alvarez of Riverdale played the Georgia Lottery instant game Jumbo Jumbo Bucks, winning a $500,000 top prize.
La Casa, 5765 Old Dixie Highway in Forest Park, sold the winning ticket.
“I was getting groceries when I bought the ticket,” said Castillo-Alvarez, 32. “I scratched it inside of the store.”
The lucky winner anticipates saving a portion of his windfall to help his parents financially.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
