Winning ticket worth $500K sold in Twiggs County

ATLANTA – A Georgia Lottery instant ticket worth a half-million dollars was sold in Twiggs County. M & H Food Mart, located at 5220 Jeffersonville Road in Dry Branch, sold a Stacks of Green instant ticket with a $500,000 top prize.

The winner, Jeffrey Basley of Jeffersonville, claimed his prize June 2 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Macon.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
