2nd Prize Now 4 Times Bigger; 3rd Prize Now 2 Times Bigger!
ATLANTA – The Georgia Lottery Corporation today announced the launch of the new Fantasy 5 game. Starting with the August 7, 2005 drawing, Fantasy 5 players will have the chance to win bigger prizes. Second prize is now four times bigger increasing from about $100 to an average of $400 for matching just four of five numbers. Third prize is now two times bigger increasing from about $9 to an average of $20 for matching three of five numbers. Fantasy 5 players can still win a free play by matching just two of five numbers.
“An increase in Fantasy 5 prize levels translates into more fun and excitement for players,” said Georgia Lottery Corporation President and CEO Margaret DeFrancisco. “These enhancements to Fantasy 5 are an outstanding opportunity for us to grow the game and to maximize dollars for the educational programs we fund.”
While Fantasy 5 prizes have increased, players still have the same chances of winning. The overall odds of winning a prize in Fantasy 5 remain 1 in 8.77.
Fantasy 5 drawings are conducted every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday at approximately 11 p.m. and every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at approximately 11:34 p.m. Live lottery drawings can be seen on the following television stations across the state: WSB – Atlanta, WFXL – Albany, WJBF – Augusta, WMAZ – Macon.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
