ATLANTA – A store clerk from Uvalda is checking out a Georgia Lottery win. Audrey Garrett played the instant game $100 Million Cash Spectacular and won $50,000.
“I almost fell out,” Ms. Garrett laughs. “I had to sit down for a minute.”
Georgia Lottery retailer Uvalda Package Shop sold the lucky ticket. Uvalda Package Shop is located at 109 S. First St. in Uvalda.
According to Ms. Garrett, a mother of three, she will probably pay off her home with her winnings. She’s still considering how to use the remainder of her prize but says it will be put to “very good use.”
This is the second Georgia Lottery win for Ms. Garrett in recent months. She won $1,000 playing $100 Million Cash Spectacular in May.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
