ATLANTA – Shipping agent J. Cruz Castor decided to get in the spirit of the season by playing one of the Georgia Lottery’s holiday instant games, Frosty the Doughman. Mr. Castor won the game’s $225,000 top prize.
Mr. Castor, 35, was left in a state of excitement after scratching the winning ticket while sitting in his car.
The Douglas resident plans to use his winning to buy a larger home. “This is going to be good for my family and our future,” Mr. Castor said.
Aden’s Minit Market #0044, located at 1214 Hwy 221 N. in Douglas, sold the winning ticket.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
