ATLANTA – For the second time in a two-month span, a Loganville resident is celebrating a million-dollar Georgia Lottery win. Darryl Jackson played the instant game $200 Million Cash Spectacular and won the $1 million top prize. In October, Loganville’s Wiley Brown also won $1 million playing $200 Million Cash Spectacular.
Mr. Jackson purchased his lucky ticket at Country Store, located at 5400 Highway 20 in Loganville. Mr. Jackson scratched the ticket in the store’s parking lot.
“I drove home immediately and put my reading glasses on to make sure,” Mr. Jackson says. “Then I had my wife check the ticket. She pretty much flipped out!”
Mr. Jackson, 44, is a self-employed home maintenance service contractor. He and his wife Stephanie have a total of four children.
According to Mr. Jackson, the family will pay bills with their winnings and have an extra-special Christmas. He also plans to buy a new car for his wife.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
