Bulloch Co. man wins a ‘giant’ $150,000

ATLANTA – A Bulloch County man is celebrating a “giant” Georgia Lottery win. Serron Johnson, 38, played the instant game Giant Jumbo Bucks and won $150,000.

“I was just shocked,” said Johnson, a resident of Register. “I went crazy. I was very happy.”

According to Johnson, he will use some of his prize to pay bills.

“It feels really good,” he said.

Johnson purchased his lucky top prize ticket at A 2 Z Truck Stop, 8741 U.S. Highway 301 S., Statesboro.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.25 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
