ATLANTA – Retired tree surgeon William Moody sees himself as living proof that anyone can win the lottery. He recently purchased a Jumbo Bucks Classic instant game ticket and won the $50,000 top prize.
Mr. Moody was sitting in his parked car when he found out that he was a winner. “I almost had a heart attack,” the Maysville resident describes.
Mr. Moody, 66, is still deciding what he will do with his winnings.
D’s Food Store, located at 10141 Commerce Rd. in Athens, sold Mr. Moody his winning ticket.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
