ATLANTA – Loganville has another new millionaire! Billy Clark played the Georgia Lottery instant game $200 Million Cash Spectacular and became the third Loganville resident in four months to win the $1 million top prize.
The Store, located at 544 Mount Vernon Rd. NW in Monroe, sold Mr. Clark’s lucky ticket.
According to Mr. Clark, he scratched the ticket at the store. “All I saw was zeros. I said, ‘Golly deal, I’ve won $1 million!’ ”
Mr. Clark says he was stunned by the exciting news. “It floored me. I couldn’t believe it,” he shares. “When it finally sunk in, I got weak all over. It’s a pleasant surprise.”
Mr. Clark, 59, is a retired DeKalb County firefighter. He plans to purchase land and build a new home with his winnings.
$200 Million Cash Spectacular is a $10 instant game with 20 $1 million top prizes. Mr. Clark is the game’s 14th millionaire. Wiley Brown of Loganville won the $1 million prize in October 2005, and Loganville’s Darryl Jackson won the $1 million prize in December 2005.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
