ATLANTA – A Savannah aircraft mechanic is flying high as a Fantasy 5 top prize winner. Kevin McIntosh won $60,484 as one of three players to match all five winning numbers in the Fantasy 5 drawing on March 21.
Mr. McIntosh visited the Georgia Lottery Corporation’s Web site and immediately recognized his randomly selected numbers as the winning combination.
“I just stared at the ticket for a minute or two,” Mr. McIntosh says. “Then I showed it to my wife, and she stared at me. We were both pretty excited.”
Mr. McIntosh, 46, works at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. He and his wife, Vickie, have a 17-year-old son.
According to Mr. McIntosh, he plans to “pay off some things” with his winnings.
The winning numbers for the March 21 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 13-16-18-20-23.
Mr. McIntosh purchased his ticket at Nickel Pumper, located at 825 Tibet Ave. in Savannah. The other top prize tickets for the Fantasy 5 drawing on March 21 were purchased in East Point and Riverdale.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Nickel Pumper will receive a retailer incentive bonus of $3,333.33.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
