Dalton Resident Brings Home $50,000 Lottery Win

Monday, May 8, 2006

ATLANTA – Dalton resident Nicole Terry bought a $200 Million Cash Spectacular instant game ticket because the color of the ticket caught her eye. She scratched her ticket and the amount of the prize also got her attention. Ms. Terry won $50,000.

Ms. Terry was at home when she discovered that she was a winner. “I almost passed out,” the 26-year-old describes.

Ms. Terry plans to use her winnings to buy a new car and a new house.

The winning ticket was purchased at Cowboy’s Food Mart #3656. The store is located at 220 Connector 3 in Dalton.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
