Tuesday, May 23, 2006

ATLANTA – A lucky Georgia Lottery player is celebrating a lifetime of security after winning $1,000 a week for life playing Win for Life. William Rowe correctly selected the winning numbers in the May 17 Win for Life drawing and won the $1,000 A WEEK FOR LIFE top prize. That's $52,000 every year for the rest of his life!

"I'm still pinching myself!" Mr. Rowe, 41, exclaims. "I'm just really happy."

The winning numbers for the Win for Life drawing on May 17 were: 7-17-19-27-31-36 and the Free Ball was 2.

Money Back #0002 (Summit), located at 1000 U.S. Highway 29 in West Point, sold the lucky Quik Pik ticket.

Mr. Rowe visited the Georgia Lottery's Web site and was thrilled to discover his big win. "I was pretty excited," he shares. "I tried to sleep that night, but I wasn't very successful."

According to Mr. Rowe, he's still deciding how to spend his lifelong winnings. "I really don't know right now. I'm sure I'll pay some bills."

Mr. Rowe works as a satellite and modem installer. He resides in Lafayette, Ala.

To date, five players have won Win for Life's incredible top prize of $1,000 a week for life. Twenty Georgia Lottery players have won the game's amazing second prize of $1,000 a week for a year for a total of $52,000 each.

Win for Life drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:00 p.m. Each Win for Life ticket costs $1.

Win for Life is a multi-state game played in Georgia, Virginia and Kentucky. As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Win for Life will benefit education in the state of Georgia.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
