ATLANTA – The Georgia Lottery Corporation recently conducted its KENO! Madness Escape Second Chance Drawing. Georgia Lottery players could enter the drawing for a chance to win one of three prizes including a vacation "escape" for four. Winners were randomly selected.
Doug Byington of Norcross won the "Ultimate Escape" grand prize. The grand prize package includes: four round-trip tickets to any domestic AirTran Airways destination; two three-night, double occupancy hotel accommodations; and $1,000 spending money. The approximate retail value of the grand prize package is $2,500. Mr. Byington, 40, works for a software development company. He hopes to visit Las Vegas or Grand Bahama Island and plans to take his mother, brother and sister-in-law.
Jerom Tatum of Columbus won the "Bass Escape" second prize. The second prize includes $1,500 towards a car audio system upgrade. Mr. Tatum, 21, works in automobile sales.
Betty Olive, a resident of Cedartown, is the "I" Escape third prize winner. The third prize includes: one 30GB Apple iPod; one iTrip for iPod; and one $50 iTunes Music Card. The approximate retail value of the third prize package is $500.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
