ATLANTA – Handyman George Waller decided to buy a Corvette Cash instant game ticket because he likes to play new Georgia Lottery games. His decision paid off, and Mr. Waller won a 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible.
Mr. Waller was shocked to find out that the ticket was a winner. "I really didn't believe it," Mr. Waller said.
The Milledgeville resident's first trip in his new car will be to Detroit, Mich. "I want to show the car to my nephew," Mr. Waller explained.
The 58-year-old purchased his winning ticket at Jet Food Store #0069, located at 2783 N. Columbia Street in Milledgeville.
Corvette Cash is a $3 game with prizes up to $75,000 and the chance to instantly win one of 10 Chevrolet Corvette Convertibles. The Georgia Lottery will pay required minimum federal and state tax withholding, sales tax, tag and title fees for each vehicle prize winner.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
