ATLANTA – A new car is just what the doctor ordered for a retired nurse. Gloria Alexander played the Georgia Lottery instant game Corvette Cash and won a brand-new Chevrolet Corvette Convertible.
Alexander, a 62-year-old resident of Augusta, was traveling when she stopped in Macon for gas. While filling up, she purchased her winning Corvette Cash ticket at Shell Spectrum #0441, located at 1105 Gray Hwy. in Macon.
According to Alexander, she scratched the ticket and had to do a double-take. "I yelled, 'I just won a Corvette!' I was really excited about it," she shares. "If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone."
Corvette Cash is a $3 game with prizes up to $75,000 and the chance to instantly win one of 10 Chevrolet Corvette Convertibles. The Georgia Lottery will pay required minimum federal and state tax withholding, sales tax, tag and title fees for each vehicle prize winner.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
