ATLANTA – The Georgia Lottery Corporation’s (GLC) Board of Directors announced the selection of three (3) candidates that will be considered to fill the position of President/CEO of the GLC in a permanent capacity.
Margaret R. DeFrancisco, Director of the New York Lottery, David W. Fisher, former Senior Managing Director for Private Banking at Bank of America and Cathy Walls, Interim President/CEO of the Georgia Lottery Corporation are finalists for the position of President/CEO of the GLC. The GLC Board of Directors is scheduled to meet again on Monday, December 15, 2003.
The national search, led by Korn/Ferry International, began in October of 2003. According to Dave Garrett, Chair of the GLC Board Search Committee, “We are committed to finding the best candidate for the job, that special leader capable of building on the GLC’s past achievements and leading it to its next level of success. We are excited to be moving forward in the process of naming a new President/CEO.”
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
