ATLANTA – A retired bakery worker from Columbus is rolling in the dough! Jerry Scrimpshire matched all five winning numbers in the Fantasy 5 drawing on Nov. 16 and won $271,252.
The winning numbers for the Nov. 16 drawing were: 7-8-12-21-22. Scrimpshire picked his winning combination using family birthdays.
According to Scrimpshire, his wife, Linder, watched the drawing and recognized his numbers.
"I was watching the football game in another room, and she came in there yelling," Scrimpshire explains. "She asked me if I had played my numbers."
Scrimpshire says they celebrated all night long. "We screamed, and we haven't slept a wink."
Scrimpshire, 65, retired from Dolly Madison Bakery. He plans to save most of his winnings and will do some home improvements.
Circle K Stores #6727, located at 5900 Veterans Pkwy. in Columbus, sold the lucky ticket. Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000.
