ATLANTA – A Marietta woman is celebrating a Fantasy 5 win worth more than a half-million dollars. Laura Reeves matched all five winning numbers in the Fantasy 5 drawing on Nov. 22 and won the $516,967 top prize.
The winning numbers for the Nov. 22 drawing were: 1-6-13-22-39. Reeves discovered her win on Thanksgiving Day when her husband, Melvin, saw the draw results in the newspaper.
"I said, 'You've got to be kidding.' Then we checked and double-checked and began calling the Georgia Lottery hotline to check again."
Reeves, 60, works as a store clerk. She and her husband have five children and 11 grandchildren.
When asked how she plans to enjoy her winnings, Reeves exclaimed, "Christmas! With all the kids and grandkids, this is going to help us out tremendously."
Reeves added, "We're going to pay the house off, pay bills, and then enjoy the rest of it."
Etenesh Shell Food Mart, located at 1414 S. Cobb Dr. S.E. in Marietta, sold the lucky ticket. Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Etenesh Shell Food Mart will receive a retailer incentive bonus of $12,000.
