ATLANTA – A Lawrenceville man said the holiday season will be even brighter for his family after winning $177,107 from playing Fantasy 5 in the Dec. 10 draw.
Peter Goldson, 65, said he is sharing ideas with his wife and 40-year-old daughter about what to do with the money.
"I was in disbelief, of course," he said. "When I told my wife, it took her awhile to grasp that I’d won." Goldson chose the ages of family members for his Fantasy 5 picks. Sunday night’s winning numbers were: 05-19-23-28-35. He purchased the winning ticket at Publix Super Market #0495, 911 Ga. Highway 120, Lawrenceville.
He discovered he’d won on the night of the drawing.
"Right now I’m feeling very happy, of course," he said. "It will definitely make the holidays a little brighter."
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Publix Super Market #0495 will receive a $6,000 retailer incentive bonus.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
