ATLANTA – A Norcross man is driving off in a brand-new sports utility vehicle thanks to the Georgia Lottery. Nguyen Tran participated in the Georgia Lottery’s KENO! Kick for $1,000,000 Challenge Saturday and won a Ford Edge.
“This is a great Christmas present,” said Tran, 23. “I’m so happy right now. I’m really happy!”
Five contestants were randomly selected in a second chance drawing to participate in the event, which was held during halftime of the Atlanta Falcons game at the Georgia Dome. Each contestant had one chance to kick a football from the 40-yard line toward the end zone for a chance to win $1 million or a Ford Edge.
As the contestant whose ball stopped closest to the goal line, Tran won the Ford Edge. A ball stopping on the goal line would have been worth $1 million.
The approximate retail value of the Ford Edge is $39,145, which includes the minimum required federal and state withholding tax.
Tran said he is excited to get his new vehicle on the road. “My first trip will be to visit my uncle and some cousins in Atlantic City.”
Other KENO! Kick for $1,000,000 Challenge contestants were: Rhonda Blalock of Woodstock, age 49; Ronnie Dingler of Cedartown, age 55; Ardell Richardson Jr. of Macon, age 53; and Ocie Lee Thurman of Albany, age 38.
All of the contestants won a trip to the KENO! Kick for $1,000,000 Challenge. The prize package included: two tickets for the Falcons game; one night hotel stay (one room, double occupancy); a Georgia Lottery prize pack; $250 travel/expense money; and a chance to participate in the million-dollar event. The approximate retail value of the prize package is $500.
