ATLANTA – An Adel mother of three got a stroke of luck playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Cool 7’s.
Erica Griffin, 23, won a top prize of $7,777 and plans on tailgating with her family at this year’s Super Bowl in Miami.
She purchased the winning ticket at Adel Food Mart, 413 S. Hutchinson Ave., in Adel.
"I had to ask the retailer because I didn’t believe that I’d won," she said. "I was shocked, but I was smiling too."
Griffin said it feels good to win the lottery.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 790,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
