ATLANTA – A lucky McDonough woman has collected a hefty Fantasy 5 prize. Tammy McEver, 41, won $400,700 in the Feb. 20 drawing.
Henry County BP #0002, 1167 Hampton Road, in McDonough sold the winning ticket. Winning numbers from the drawing were: 13-26-28-36-37.
McEver chose the Quik Pik option to select her lucky numbers. She surprised her twin sister, Tracey, with news that she’d won.
"I kept saying that I needed to buy a ticket," said McEver, an auto parts secretary for a local car dealership. "I thought to myself how funny it would be if I were a winner."
She plans to save and buy a house.
"I’m still in a state of shock," McEver said. "I’m just dumbfounded."
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Henry County BP #0002 will receive a retailer incentive bonus of $10,000.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
