Camden Co. a lottery hot spot: 2 $10K prizes in 1 week

ATLANTA – Camden County is on a lucky streak. Two $10,000 prizes for the new Georgia Lottery game Decades of Dollars were won recently in Kingsland and Woodbine.

William Faircloth of Hoboken won a $10,000 prize in the Feb. 28 drawing. His ticket was purchased at Shell Food Mart, 1355 King Ave., Kingsland.

The other lucky ticket, still unclaimed, was purchased for the Feb. 24 drawing at Green Cedar Food Store #0015, 1870 Harrietts Bluff Road, Woodbine.

Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.

Decades of Dollars is a multi-state game played in Georgia, Kentucky and Virginia. The game offers a top prize of $250,000 a year for 30 years and a $10,000 second prize. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Tickets cost $2 per play.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
