$77 million winning Powerball ticket sold in Tallapoosa

ATLANTA – A winning Powerball ticket was sold in Georgia. Pilot Travel Center #0312, 882 Georgia Highway 100 in Tallapoosa, sold a winning Powerball ticket worth $77 million from the June 29 drawing.

Winning numbers from the drawing were: 24-30-45-57-59 and the Powerball was 26. The winner, who has yet to come forward, selected the Quik Pik option.

The cash option for this prize is $40.8 million.

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is at an estimated $105 million to a single annuity winner.

Any lucky player who matches all five white ball numbers, along with the Mega Ball number, could win approximately $4 million a year for 26 years with the annuity option. Or a player could select the cash option and win a single payment worth approximately $68 million.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball and Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
