Chef Cooks Up $202,000 Fantasy 5 Win

Monday, June 21, 2004

ATLANTA – Chef Danny Moore of Norcross has stirred up a winning Fantasy 5 recipe. With a dash of his birthday, a splash of his mother’s birthday, and a pinch of his son’s age, Mr. Moore matched all five numbers in the June 15 Fantasy 5 drawing and won $202,692 before taxes.

After seeing the Fantasy 5 results on the morning news, Mr. Moore returned to the store where he purchased the ticket for confirmation. “I knew those were my numbers,” he says. “Wow! You never know when your lucky day is going to be.”

The winning numbers for the June 15 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 5-7-11-19-31. Mr. Moore’s lucky ticket was purchased at Shell Gas Station, located at 3155 Pleasantdale Rd. in Tucker. Top prize tickets for the June 15 Fantasy 5 drawing were also sold in Athens and College Park.

Mr. Moore, 53, works as a chef at Caffè Antico in the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University. He plans to save most of his winnings and will help his mother. “I’m in the process of building my mom a home so that’s going to fit in real beautifully,” he shares.

Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the retailer incentive bonus. Since there were three top prize winners for the June 15 Fantasy 5 drawing and the top prize rolled six times, Shell Gas Station will receive a retailer incentive bonus of $4,666.67.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
