Thomaston woman wins $474,000 lottery prize

ATLANTA – A Thomaston woman’s fantasy has come true. Jannis Hickmon, 52, won $474,974 by matching all five winning numbers in the Sept. 5 Fantasy 5 drawing.

Hickmon claimed her prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery’s Macon district office.

Winning numbers from the drawing were: 2-13-16-33-38. Hickmon generated her lucky combination with the game’s Quik Pik option.

The jackpot ticket was purchased at Easy Stop, 1030 Barnesville St., Thomaston.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.3 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
