ATLANTA – A $25,000 Georgia Lottery prize was unveiled for a lucky winner in West Point. Brandon Carroll, 26, played the instant game Cash Payout and won a $25,000 prize.
Carroll, who lives in Valley, Ala., purchased his ticket at Sunlit, 101 W. Eighth St. in West Point, and scratched it at home.
“There it was,” he said. “I told my wife, and she thought I was lying.”
An automobile quality control trainer, Carroll described the winning moment with his wife, Melissa, as “amazing.”
“We were both shaking, and we almost started crying,” he recalled.
The couple, who have an infant son, anticipate paying off bills.
Cash Payout is an instant game loaded with cash prizes of up to $225,000.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
