Rome landscaper trims $10K prize

Friday, August 31, 2012

ATLANTA – One landscaper from Rome is enjoying the great outdoors and the greenery from the Georgia Lottery. Robert House, 37, won a $10,000 prize playing the new instant game Atlanta Falcons Cash Blowout.

House claimed his prize Thursday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Dalton.

Village Shop, 5850 New Calhoun Highway N.E. in Rome, sold the winning ticket.

“I scratched it in the car,” House said. “I almost had a heart attack.”

Feeling “pretty good” about his lottery win, the father of three daughters anticipates paying off bills.

Atlanta Falcons Cash Blowout is a new Georgia Lottery instant game loaded with cash prizes of up to $250,000.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
