$40K prize steals show for Dallas antiques dealer

Friday, September 21, 2012

ATLANTA – Antiques are impressive but a Georgia Lottery prize worth thousands is sure to steal the show! Christy Solomon, an antiques dealer from Dallas, won a $40,000 top prize playing the new instant game Count The Money.

Glade Food Mart, located at 231 W. Memorial Drive in Dallas, sold the winning ticket. Solomon, 52, scratched it in the store.

“I just walked in and bought the ticket,” she said. “I couldn’t believe it.”

With one adult daughter, Solomon described being “shocked” but is ecstatic about winning her prize.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
