Griffin grandmother wins $199K Fantasy 5 prize

ATLANTA – A grandmother from Griffin is celebrating a win from the Georgia Lottery. Iqbal Janjua, 72, matched all five numbers from the Sept. 19 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $199,176 jackpot prize.

Janjua recently claimed her prize at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Macon.

“I am too happy,” said Janjua, a grandmother of three.

BP Food Shop, 6725 Roosevelt Highway in Union City, sold the winning combination.

A retired teacher, Janjua has six adult children. She has no plans at the moment for her windfall.

Winning numbers from the Sept. 19 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 10-12-15-27-34.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
