ATLANTA – A winning ticket carrying a jackpot prize from a Fantasy 5 drawing was sold in Houston County. Discount Mart, located at 2991 Moody Road in Bonaire, sold a winning ticket worth $227,245 from the Sept. 22 Fantasy 5 drawing.
Gerald Miller of Bonaire claimed his prize Oct. 22 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Macon.
Miller, 51, said that his initial reaction upon checking the results on the Georgia Lottery’s website was “joy.”
“I’ll make house repairs and pay off bills,” Miller shared. “I’ll help my kids in school and pay off my credit cards.”
Winning numbers from the Sept. 22 drawing were: 6-23-27-32-37.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
