ATLANTA – When Timothy Sliger won $20 playing the Georgia Lottery instant game $100 Million Cash Spectacular, he purchased two more tickets with his winnings. That turned out to be a spectacular decision. Mr. Sliger scratched the first ticket and won $15. With the second ticket, he became an instant millionaire.
“I consider myself extremely lucky,” shares Mr. Sliger, a resident of Tucker.
After winning the $1 million top prize on $100 Million Cash Spectacular, Mr. Sliger was too shocked to move. “I was just sitting there staring into space,” he says.
Mr. Sliger, 50, works as a department manager at a hardware store. He is still deciding how to use his winnings. “I’m doing my best to spend it wisely.”
Georgia Lottery retailer Happy Food Mart, located at 2199 Idlewood Rd. in Tucker, sold the lucky ticket.
To date, Georgia Lottery players have won more than $138 million on $100 Million Cash Spectacular. Eleven $1 million top prizes have been claimed.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
