Powerball dominates with $284M jackpot for Wednesday’s drawing
ATLANTA – Mega Millions and Powerball are rolling and both jackpots continue to grow. In Georgia, both games have brought abundant prizes to lucky players statewide.
The estimated jackpot for Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing is $122 million to a single annuity winner. The jackpot has rolled 10 times since Jan. 7.
A winning ticket worth $5,000 was sold in Roswell from the Feb. 7 Mega Millions drawing.
Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $122 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $67 million.
It only takes $1 to play Mega Millions for a chance to win big. Players can multiply non-jackpot prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play.
Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is at an estimated $284 million to a single annuity winner.
The Powerball jackpot began rolling Dec. 28 and has rolled 13 times.
Three winning tickets worth $10,000 were sold in Hephzibah, Temple and Athens from the Feb. 8 drawing.
Powerball offers two jackpot payment options: the $284 million annuity prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $162 million.
Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Players can add the Power Play feature for an additional $1 per play to increase non-jackpot prize winnings.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions and Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
