ATLANTA – A 25-year-old insulation contractor has won an energizing top prize from the Georgia Lottery. David Runels of Cordele played the instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular, winning a $1 million top prize.
Georgia Lottery representatives presented Runels with an oversized check Wednesday at Quick Buy Food Store, 1026 E. 24th Ave. in Cordele, the store where he purchased the winning ticket.
“I was weak in the knees after I scratched it off,” he said. “This is life changing.”
Runels and his wife, Megan, have a 6-year-old and are expecting a newborn later this year.
With his winnings, the lucky winner anticipates purchasing a new home.
The Georgia Lottery instant game $10 Million Cash Spectacular is loaded with cash prizes, including top prizes of up to $1 million and $10 million.
Players can enter non-winning tickets into the $10 Million Cash Spectacular Extra Chance Promotion for a second chance to win $10 million.
