Atlanta man strikes major windfall with $750K prize

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

ATLANTA – An Atlanta man plans to stockpile his Georgia Lottery winnings for his young children to one day attend college. Jerry Clark won a $750,000 top prize playing the instant game Giant Jumbo Bucks – Anniversary Edition.

“That’s all I’ve ever wanted: to take care of my kids so they can go to college,” said Clark, 39. “I want to go back to school, too, for business management.”

Georgia Lottery representatives presented Clark with an oversized check Wednesday at Metro Quick Mart, 1341 Metropolitan Parkway in Atlanta, the store that sold the lucky ticket.

Working in event management, Clark scratched the ticket and saw the matching No. 13.

“I almost fell out,” he said. “I ran all the way home and fell out on the floor.”

Clark and his fiancé, Krystle, together have five children.

The couple anticipate getting married.
