Winning ticket worth $550K sold in Calhoun

ATLANTA – A winning Georgia Lottery instant ticket worth more than a half a million dollars was sold in Calhoun. USA Food Mart, located at 1449 Highway 41 N. in Calhoun, sold a winning ticket worth $550,000 from the instant game $550,000 Grand Money.

The winner, Cynthia Richmond of Dalton, claimed her prize at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $15.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
