ATLANTA – Lady Luck has struck a Cobb County man, who is taking off with an instant Georgia Lottery prize worth thousands. Murray Chalmers, who lives in Kennesaw, won a $30,000 top prize playing the instant game Lady Luck.
Chalmers, who has three adult children and three grandchildren, intends to use his windfall to help them financially.
“I was shocked. I said, ‘Am I dreaming this,’” he recalled.
The lucky winner scratched the ticket in his car after purchasing it at Minit Saver, 3807 Due West Road N.W. in Marietta.
As the owner of a staffing agency, Chalmers recently celebrated his 70th birthday.
“It’s a good birthday present,” he said of his windfall.
Chalmers lives in Kennesaw with his wife, Suzanne.
