ATLANTA – A security systems consultant from Atlanta has captured a million-dollar Georgia Lottery win. Patricia Gaines played the instant game $100 Million Cash Spectacular and won the $1 million top prize.
Shell, located at 2805 Chamblee Tucker Rd. in Chamblee, sold the lucky ticket.
Mrs. Gaines scratched the ticket at the store and asked the retailer to confirm her win. "I didn't know what it was," she says. "I just knew that I had a lot of zeros."
Mrs. Gaines is married with one daughter and one dog. She plans to enjoy her winnings and says that she will share a portion with her mother.
$100 Million Cash Spectacular offers the highest prize payout percentage in Georgia Lottery history and 20 $1 million top prizes. To date, 19 $1 million top prizes have been claimed.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
