ATLANTA – Sub shop owner Laura Peacock has been so excited lately that she can’t eat or sleep. Instead, she’s been planning where she will drive in her new car. Mrs. Peacock played Mustang Money, a Georgia Lottery instant game, and won a brand-new Ford Mustang convertible.
The Moultrie resident scratched her ticket while she was in her restaurant. “I went outside and I just started screaming at the top of my lungs,” she explained. “Everybody came running outside to check on me.”
Mrs. Peacock’s husband, Joey, took the ticket from her, and when he saw the prize, he started screaming too. The 31-year-old plans to enjoy her new car with the entire family. “My grandmother always wears a bun,” Mrs. Peacock said. “I told her to let it down so she can feel the wind blowing in her hair!”
Mustang Money is a $3 game that offers a $75,000 top prize and the chance to instantly win one of 10 Ford Mustang convertibles.
The Patio, located at 2725 S. Main St. in Moultrie, sold Mrs. Peacock her winning ticket.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
